I love the emotional development we’re getting for Kou, not to mention, this is the volume where some of our questions about Hanako-kun start being addressed。 But for each piece of information we get, ten more questions spring up。 I really like the steady pace and gradual building of the plot as it lends itself to creating a sense of dread, and then, when something horrific does happen or is revealed, the impact is that much stronger。This series is very cute, but it’s still a ghost story, and th I love the emotional development we’re getting for Kou, not to mention, this is the volume where some of our questions about Hanako-kun start being addressed。 But for each piece of information we get, ten more questions spring up。 I really like the steady pace and gradual building of the plot as it lends itself to creating a sense of dread, and then, when something horrific does happen or is revealed, the impact is that much stronger。This series is very cute, but it’s still a ghost story, and thus can turn violent at any moment。 Makes it fun! 。。。more

Ich war noch etwas unsicher wie ich den Manga finden soll, aber der Band hat mich überzeugt。

3。5* This series has a tendency to go slow and introduce things at a decent pace and then FLY AND EVERYTHING HAPPENS HYPER QUICK。 This one had too much happen too fast。 I couldn’t feel for Mitsuba because it happened too quick。

Kritika

Ughh my heart ╥﹏╥

Well, this is taking a dark turn。。。

While the adventures have been great, volume 4 really kicks things up a notch by following up the revelation of Hanako's past human life from the previous volume with more information about what he did as a human (i。e。, (view spoiler)[killed his brother, who reappears as another spirit in this volume (hide spoiler)]), and shows more of the teenager behind the powerful front of School Mystery No。 Seven。This would be enough to keep my interest, but at the same time we have the return of the mermai While the adventures have been great, volume 4 really kicks things up a notch by following up the revelation of Hanako's past human life from the previous volume with more information about what he did as a human (i。e。, (view spoiler)[killed his brother, who reappears as another spirit in this volume (hide spoiler)]), and shows more of the teenager behind the powerful front of School Mystery No。 Seven。This would be enough to keep my interest, but at the same time we have the return of the mermaid (or at least, her minions) trying to convince Nene to join the ocean kingdom--this gets more detail than the anime, and appears to show the mermaid isn't just a big angry monster? Intriguing。Keeping up the emotional gut-punches is the introduction of Kou's [former] classmate Mitsuba, whose presence also allows a bigger show of new antagonist Tsukasa (whose name I don't think is introduced here, but whatever)。 Tsukasa, being (view spoiler)[Hanako's brother--and apparently killed by Hanako/Amane in life--is a disturbing mirror of Hanako: visually identical, with some of Hanako's superficial charm and humor, but where Hanako has depths concerned with keeping order among supernaturals and humans, and clearly cares about his human friends, (hide spoiler)]Tsukasa's emotions only seem to extend to whatever amuses him。。。and what amuses him is mostly harm to other people。 。。。more

Holy fuck, HOLY FUCK, this volume was DARK! Holy shit, I was NOT prepared for where this volume was going and it was DISTURBING。Tsukasa's behavior is terrifying, reminds me of those kids who were too curious for their own good and never had someone to rein them in。 And his manipulation and mutilation of Mistuba was frightening, especially for a child! I'm so curious to learn more about him, but given how slowly this series doles out backstory, I know I'll be waiting awhile for that。It was cool g Holy fuck, HOLY FUCK, this volume was DARK! 2020 Read #5073。5 starsThis series is always a hard one to rate。 I love the art and the characters, but sometimes I feel like I have to preface it by saying, “You really gotta let the story grow on you as it builds over multiple chapters。” And some readers may not want to let their investment in the story build over time。
